Are you looking for a new thermostat and wondering what model to buy? It can be overwhelming considering the number of makes and models available on the market today. Let us help to save you some time. In this post, we'll look at one of the better options on the market – the Emerson 1F95EZ-0671
Why Choose 1f95ez-0671?
Emerson is a household name in America. Most of us have used their products at some stage or another. We’ve stuck with Emerson for this thermostat because of the quality of the build. Very few other thermostats come with the same three-year warranty.
Emerson is proud of its products and perfectly happy to back them up with a great warranty. But, enough about them, why should you choose this model?
To start, the six-inch display and large font size make reading this model a breeze. If you wear glasses, you’ll know how annoying it is to have to fish them out just so that you can squint at a screen. That’s not an issue here at all.
The display is backlit and so easy to see at any time of the day.
Easy to Use
It's intuitive to operate in manual mode and is programmable for up to seven days in advance. Choose to set and forget or chop and change it as you like. The manual controls are simple enough. Audio prompts guide you through each step.
If you’re looking for a simple thermostat that you can set and forget, this is a great option. It’s all controlled from the console, so there’s no need to download an app. If you’re a bit technophobic, you’ll find this a lot simpler to manage.
To change temperatures choose:
- Heat to control your heating system
- A/C to control your air conditioner
- Fan to engage the fan on days that aren’t quite hot enough for the air conditioner
You also have a hold function that allows you to override the set programming for two hours at a time.
Integrates with a Lot of Different Systems
It’ll work with most of the major systems out there, such as:
- Air conditioners
- Heat pump systems – even those with dual fuel operation
We do advise that you check compatibility with your home system before purchasing. It will not work with:
- Electric baseboard heat
- All systems
Most users are pleasantly surprised at how little power it uses. You’ll need 2 AA batteries, but you won’t be replacing them every other week. The system does have a battery life alert, so you do have plenty of notice when the battery starts to drain.
Simple to Install
Installation is quick and easy. You get the base unit and the wall unit. All that you need to do is to patch it incorrectly. The instructions are clear and simple to assist you on how to proceed. If you're handy around the home, it should pose no problems for you.
You get a limited three-year "repair and replace" warranty. Under this type of warranty, the company will first see if the unit is repairable before replacing it. If it cannot be repaired, they will replace it with a new unit. Repairs are guaranteed for 90 days after they've been completed.
The Price is Right
In terms of price, this model is reasonable. It comes in at under $100 with delivery, so that’s not bad. Can you get cheaper models? Yes. Are they going to last as long or work as well? Probably not. We’ve looked, and none of the cheaper models come with anywhere near the same warranty.

Switching over to the pre-programmed mode and back again is a bit clunky. You'll want to read the instruction manual on this to ensure that you know what to do. It's not a deal-breaker and only affects you if you're going to use the pre-programming features.
If the company put a separate button that was marked "Program," it would have been a lot easier to use. Still, it's simple enough once you understand how to switch between the two.
We’d also recommend installing it away from the bedrooms. The relays do click. It’s not extremely loud, and certainly not as loud as is the case with other brands. That said, it is audible so, if you're sensitive to sound, it's better it's away from the bedrooms.
Emerson has built its reputation on providing innovative, well-made products. This model is yet another example of them listening to what their clients want in a product. They’ve made it a slightly bigger model, so that it’s easy to read, even if you haven’t got your glasses on.
It can be used as a straight thermostat or as a programmable model. Aside from the small issue that we have mentioned, it's easy to use. And even that is not going to be problematic. You can always phone the client helpline if you need help with it.
Pricewise, this model is affordable for a programmable thermostat at under $100. The company does also provide a three-year limited warranty that covers you in the event of a manufacturer’s defect. In this industry, the typical warranty is a year at the most.
Overall, Emerson 1F95EZ-0671 is an excellent product for its price.
